A road is closed after powerlines were brought down when a stolen car crashed into them in south Auckland today.
The crash happened on Mahunga Drive in Mangere about 6am, police said.
When police arrived on site they found the driver had fled the stolen car.
Vector was called and the lines company was still repairing the powerlines, police said.
The road was expected to open shortly
