Road blocked after tree fall

Thames Coast Rd is blocked after a falling tree brought down live power lines 10 km north of Thames at Te Puru.

Contractors are making their way to the scene but it is not known how long the road will take to clear, police said.

There is significant traffic build-up in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
