Riversdale is waiting its turn to host six lifeguards who are venturing around the New Zealand coastline in an inflatable rescue boat, or IRB.
The New Zealand Surf Life Saving Club lifeguards, from clubs around the country, are taking part in the journey to celebrate their club's 100-year anniversary.
Mike Taylor, Riversdale Surf Club captain, says the crew are due to arrive on February 3.
He said no official ceremony was planned to welcome the men but they would be shown hospitality "depending how they are".
He said they may wish only to rest, as the crew will be staying overnight in Riversdale Beach.
Mr Taylor said the club might take a boat out to meet them.
The journey is made up of 32 legs and Riversdale is the 26th stop on the adventurers' way back to Auckland - after travelling around coastlines of the North Island, South Island and Stewart Island.
The men will spend a total of 40 days at sea, have four crew on land and will travel a total of 5194km.
