The gradual rise in national job adverts continued with a 0.4 per cent increase last month, the ANZ Job Ads survey shows.
After flattening early in the year, the number of job ads had risen for five consecutive months, the bank said yesterday.
But on an annual basis, the rate of national job ads growth continued to slow in August - slipping to 4 per cent, the lowest rate since the beginning of last year.
This trend was consistent with the slowing of domestic economic activity in recent times, the bank said.
"Job ads increased in August for all centres apart from Auckland and Manawatu, with strong growth in Christchurch and Wellington driving the overall national increase.
Vacancies fell 0.9 per cent in Auckland.
