Rimutaka Hill Road has reopened after a diesel spill closed both lanes this morning.
Police said they received a report of a spill on the Wairarapa side of the summit about 6.30am.
The road, State Highway 2, was closed at 7.01am.
The spill has now been cleared and the road has reopened.
