Rimutaka Hill Road reopens after high winds

The Rimutaka Hill Road connecting Wellington and Wairarapa has reopened after high winds buffeted the region overnight.

Police shut the road at 1am after the strong gusts made it too perilous for traffic using the pass.

The road reopened at 6am.
