If Rihanna's first two sellout shows at Vector Arena starting this Sunday evening are anything to go by, we suggest fans join the queue now for her new makeup collection.
The Riri Hearts M.A.C range may be just the latest in a long line of well-timed celebrity commercial collaborations, but it makes a change from fragrance, although she and the rest of the stellar entertainment line-up coming our way this year - including Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber - all have those. The main difference with Rihanna is she can really rock a look. She stands out as a genuine beauty trendsetter, from her hair colour(s) to her decorated nails and bold lips. She also currently tops the list of the world's most digitally downloaded artists.
Items from the Riri collection, housed in sleek metallic rose-gold packaging, are being used backstage on the tour. We love the lash sets and a lip line-up that shows her chameleon tastes, ranging from a creamy nude to frosted orange and matte red to deep raisin. The lipsticks cost $44, with lashes $28, up to eye palettes for $105.
The star talks us through the new range, which is available from Monday.
You're the first person that M.A.C Cosmetics has named as a creative partner, why do you think they chose you?
As a brand, M.A.C Cosmetics always has fun while taking risks - they are not afraid. We are the same in that way, and they certainly recognised that. It's a natural marriage, as we are both not afraid to show our point of views.
I've have been a fan of M.A.C and have been wearing the products for as long as I can remember. I am excited to be involved with them on the creative level.
