My phone, which I was using as an alarm was plugged into some sort of weird adaptor contraption that was dangling off the light bulb. I had no recollection of ever seeing such a thing before. Not only that but the light bulb was on. I never turned it on, why was it on?
I came to the conclusion that I must be dreaming so I got back into bed and returned to sleep.
The weird thing was, I was already asleep so as I started to dream again, I effectively had a dream within a dream.
This next dream focused on me trying to work out where the strange adaptor contraption had come from.
Halfway through this dream I started to panic, wondering whether I was dreaming or not. I thought to myself 'I better be dreaming because I need the sleep.'
Anyway it was all very Inception or as I like to call it 'Rhyseption'.
At the end of the day (or in this case the beginning) what I'm trying to say is ... I think I've unlocked one of the mystery chambers in my brain. I believe the answers to life can be found by standing in the doorway between conscious and unconscious realms.
How often have you been lying in bed unable to sleep because your mind is running overtime? And how many times during those sessions have you surprised yourself by coming up with semi-genius ideas? This is because you have "caught" your brain unawares. The brain is full of magical passageways but every passage is blocked by a door.
These doors are locked from the beginning of our lives to protect us from information overload but as we grow older the doors start to unlock. A perfect system it would seem but one with a stunning issue ... At full adulthood only 20 per cent of our brain passages are open!
Now this is more than enough to run a successful life but take it from me (a man who is now using 21 possibly 22 per cent of full brain power) the amazingness of new possibilities is astounding.
I'd love to share some more of my new wisdom with you but unfortunately I've just heard my alarm go off.
It's time to get up and have a shower.
