Reuben Thorne marries Mehrtens' sister

Former All Black captain Reuben Thorne yesterday married Kate Mehrtens in a secret ceremony.

Thorne, 28, and the 25-year-old younger sister of All Black Andrew Mehrtens delivered their vows in a wet Valentine's Day ceremony in Ohoka, 25km northwest of Christchurch.

The pair first met at Andrew Mehrtens' 21st birthday party nearly nine years ago.
