KEY POINTS:
A new version of the Boxster roadster, called the RS 60 Spyder, pays homage to Porsche's 1960s motorsport efforts and the classic Type 718 RS 60 Spyder.
The front end of the special model comes from Porsche's SportDesign Package and is intended to distinguish the RS 60 Spyder from the Boxster S.
It also features a modified exhaust system and 19-inch wheels on space plates, for a wider track. Door trim strips made of stainless steel bear the "RS 60 Spyder" designation. There are special surface grooves in the centre sections of the sports seats and the centre door.
Racing-style touches include the windscreen frame finished in black and red rear light clusters, as well as the centre console, rear sections of the seat backrests and the rollbars all finished in GT silver metallic.
The Boxster RS 60 Spyder is limited to a special edition of 1960 units. Market launch dates and retail prices are still to be confirmed for New Zealand.
