An NZQA bungle saw scholarship results posted on the official website yesterday - almost three weeks earlier than intended.
Students logging in to view their Record of Learning on the NZQA results page were shocked to see their scholarships listed alongside the already-released NCEA marks.
The authority was not aware of the mistake until the Herald on Sunday contacted media liaison Heather Church.
"They shouldn't be there," Ms Church said. IT staff were sent back to work at about 7pm to pull the results off the website, she said.
It is not yet known how many results were posted, or for how long.
They are due to be posted on February 23.
The mix-up comes just days after the authority slammed Massey University for breaching a January 28 embargo on NCEA results.
Massey said it checked twice with the authority before letting students know their level 3 results had got them into the university.
