A Hamilton restaurant manager has been caught driving three times over the legal alcohol limit, Waikato police say.
District Road Policing Manager, Inspector Leo Tooman said the 37-year-old woman was seen getting into a car by
city council camera operators who were concerned about her wellbeing.
"The woman was stopped by police outside her home and blew a result of 1157mg/l, the legal adult alcohol limit being 400mg/l," Mr Tooman said.
"As a result the woman has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to remain, third or subsequent excess breath alcohol and threatening language and will appear in the Hamilton District Court today."
Mr Tooman said it was disappointing someone involved in the hospitality industry would be found in such a state.
"The woman holds a General Manager's certificate under the Sale of Liquor Act and manages a licensed restaurant.
"As such we will be looking at taking the matter before the Liquor Licensing Authority for possible follow up action."
