UPDATE: A Putaruru rest home resident who was taken hospital last night had suffered minor injuries as a result of an asthma attack, not an assault.
The 73-year-old woman has since been discharged from hospital.
A press release issued by Philips Search and Rescue Trust earlier today mistakenly cited an alleged assault as the cause of the hospitalisation.
