A police investigation into the sudden death of a Hamilton rest home resident has been called off after a post-mortem found the man died of natural causes.
Investigators carried out a scene examination at an Enderley rest home after the 81-year-old man died in Waikato Hospital overnight.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton said a post-mortem examination carried out in Auckland this morning found the death was not suspicious.
The case had been referred to the coroner, he said.
