"Supporting Families Caring for Children"
The Open Home Foundation, Hawkes Bay is looking for foster parents who are willing to provide fortnightly weekend respite for children with autism and intellectual disability.
The ideal couple will:
• Have a passion to support the family/whanau by helping to create a
"home away from home" environment for the children.
• Have an understanding of the importance of respite for the family
with children with special needs.
• Have some experience or understanding of children with special
needs and be open for new learning.
• Have compassion, patience and enjoy working with children with special needs.
• Be able to work collaboratively with the children's family and other support workers.
• Be able to quickly establish confidence, rapport and routine with the children and their family.
• Have a strong empathy with the organisation's Christian and bicultural values.
• Ideally have a fully fenced home environment.
• Have NZ residency and a full driver's licence.
