Wairarapa police management is undergoing a reshuffle, with a temporary Area Commander being appointed to fill the role left vacant by Brent Register's departure in March.
Inspector Nick Brown will take over from Senior Sergeant Mike Sutton, who has been filling in as Acting Area Commander.
Mr Brown is a member of the operational team at Police National Headquarters and was formerly a dog handler in the Wellington district.
He takes up the Area Commander role on August 3, an appointment which is expected to last about seven weeks.
Mr Sutton will take on the role of Response Manager.
