A rescue helicopter had some difficulty locating an injured man when nearby fishermen ignored rescuers and kept on fishing.
The Westpac rescue helicopter was called to an injured man on a large rock used for fishing near Pipinui Point, north of Makara Beach on Wellington's west coast.
"We had a bit of trouble locating the injured man because the other people on the rock with him never indicated we were in right spot, they just kept fishing," said Westpac rescue helicopter crewman Dave Greenberg.
"Even when we brought the helicopter down near the rock the others nearby just ignored us and kept on fishing".
A 39-year-old man was flown to flown to Wellington Hospital with a cut foot.
