Rescue on as boat sinks in Manukau Harbour

Emergency services were this afternoon rushing to little Huia where a small boat with up to five people on board was sinking.

Coastguard was alerted to the situation in Manukau Harbour just after 2pm by a member of the public who was on land.

The person reported seeing four to five people frantically waving their hands in the air. They said it looked like the small boat they were in was sinking.

Coastguard, police, the Eagle helicopter and Westpac Helicopter are all attending.
