The man was stabilised and then was extracted from the scene, along with the paramedic.
He was flown to Tauranga Hospital for further assessment.
Three other people have been hospitalised following separate motorbike incidents in the central North Island.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched at 11.30pm yesterday to Whakatane Hospital for an urgent transfer of a 12-year-old girl.
The girl had suffered serious head and face injuries after a fall from a motorbike.
She was under the care of the onboard flight nurse and was flown on a rapid response flight to Waikato Hospital for specialised treatment.
Later in the day a 10-year-old boy was flown to Rotorua Hospital by the BayTrust Rescue Helicopter after he fell from his dirt bike at an event.
The rescue crew was dispatched to Kurutau, on the southwest edge of Lake Taupo at 4.30pm yesterday and treated the boy for a fractured left femur.
He was stabilised by the on-site paramedics, before being flown to hospital for further treatment.
The incident was followed by a 63-year-old man suffering serious injuries to his pelvis after rolling his quad bike on sloping terrain earlier today.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched at 10.30am to a quad bike injury on a lifestyle block near Karamu, west of Hamilton.
Because of the difficult access, and serious injury, the rescue helicopter was used to land nearby and rapidly transport the patient to Waikato Hospital.
All four rescue helicopters are run by the Philips Search and Rescue Trust (PSRT).
