A man in his 60s was flown to hospital after a near-drowning at New Chums Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula this afternoon.
Other swimmers pulled the man out of the water.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew treated him shortly after 2.30pm and he was flown to Auckland City Hospital.
