Reports of a helicopter crash at Ngunguru, Whangarei have turned out to be a training exercise.
Police received a report this morning that a helicopter had crashed near the Ngunguru Sandspit.
Police said inquiries found that there had been no crash and the Northland Electricity Rescue Helicopter had been carrying out a training exercise in the area at the time.
