A car with reportedly five people inside has crashed north of Rolleston.
No other vehicles were believed to be involved and the fire service was en route to free the trapped people, Southern Fire Communications shift manager Brent Dunn said.
The accident occurred on State Highway 1 just after 6am. Initial reports suggested there were five people in the vehicle, Mr Dunn said.
