Emergency services are rushing to Omaha Beach north of Auckland, where a car has reportedly gone into the water.
Police said they were called just after 6.30am about a car losing control on Broadlands Drive.
The caller said the car's horn is going constantly, there's smoke coming from the bonnet and the vehicle is half-submerged.
