KEY POINTS:
The Independent Police Conduct Authority report into the police shooting of fugitive Graham Burton will be released today.
In January last year Burton was shot and seriously wounded by two officers in the hills above the Wellington suburb of Wainuiomata.
Minutes before his confrontation with the armed officers Burton - a paroled convicted murderer who was on the run from police - had murdered Wellington man Karl Kuchenbecker and assaulted four other people.
Burton's injuries meant his right leg had to be amputated.
