Replica guns spark callout

A teenager sparked an armed police callout in Napier yesterday morning when he took a walk holding two replica AK-47 assault rifles.

The 15-year-old was arrested about 7.15am by armed officers and will be dealt with through the Police Youth Aid section.

It is understood the fake firearms were props for a school play and the youth had got them from his father.
