The Wairarapa under-17 and under-15 netball teams will be involved in their national and regional tournaments next week after having completed two months of preparatory work.
The under-17 team, coached by Marion Tulloch and managed by Rosemary Lynch, will be part of 35 teams contesting their national event in Wanganui, with entries coming from Dunedin to North Harbour
Pool play will be on July 9 and 10 and then the top 16 teams will go through to the A section and the remaining 19 to the B section.
Up against Wairarapa in pool matches will be Hamilton City, North Harbour B, Manurewa and Te Awamutu
The Wairarapa under-17s have performed well in pre-tournament matches this season and are hopeful of improving on their 21st seeding in 2004.
The Wairarapa under-15 side, coached by Kim Whiteman and managed by Ces Donaldson, is heading to New Plymouth for a regional tournament.
There they will play in second grade where their opposition will be Hamilton development, Wanganui, Kawerau, Manurewa and Hutt Valley development.
A total of 41 teams will contest this tourney.
Just two premier one matches will be played in Netball Wairarapa's premier one competition this weekend, both of them being staged at the Genesis Recreation Centre in Masterton tonight.
Collegiate should overwhelm Hiona in the 6pm game and All Blacks should have the edge on the Celtic Marist in the late game.
