Renters warned of scams

A fraud expert is warning of rental holiday accommodation scams.

Former ASB investigator and author Chris Taylor said Kiwis were currently more at risk when arranging overseas trips, but scams here were on the rise as overseas crooks moved into the region.

"Particularly with the attention around the Rugby World Cup, criminals will see it as a prime scam opportunity," he said.
