The man accused of murdering Christchurch woman Renee Duckmanton was verbally abused by her family again as he appeared in court for the second time today.
The 22-year-old sex worker's burned body was found on a rural Canterbury road on May 15 - the day after she was last seen near the Peterborough and Manchester streets intersection in Christchurch's red light district.
A 31-year-old man was later charged with her murder.
As he appeared at the High Court in Christchurch this morning for a pre-trial session, members of Miss Duckmanton's family were in tears and her father was visibly shaking.
The accused has interim name suppression to allow his defence counsel Phil Shamy time to appeal Justice Cameron Mander's decision to lift the suppression order.
