The parents of slain mother-of-two Jo Pert have thanked those who participated in a "reclaim the streets'' run commemorating the life of their daughter.
Janice and Kevin Pert said in a statement released by police today: "We were so overwhelmed by the response for the run set up by Lydia from Nike - and say a huge thank you to her.

"We know in our hearts Jo would have participated if it was for someone else.''
The run was organised by Lydia O'Donnell over the weekend in a bid to encourage women to reclaim the streets and feel safe about jogging following the death of avid runner Ms Pert, 41, who was killed while jogging in Remuera on January 7.
