Remand in murder case

A Pakuranga fabric cutter has made a second appearance in the Manukau District Court on a charge of murdering a Samoan MP.

Vase Iosefa Falaniko, 47, is accused of stabbing Su'i Atonio in the chest at a Manurewa house last week.

Su'i was an outspoken member of the main opposition party in Samoa.

Falaniko has been remanded in custody to reappear in court for a pre-depositions hearing next month.
