A man who allegedly assaulted another man for putting faeces into a woman's handbag has been remanded on bail.
Lance James Mackel, 20, was charged with injuring Andrew Carman, 58, of Wellington, with reckless disregard for the safety of others.
He allegedly beat Mr Carman up after the older man put human faeces into Mackel's girlfriend's handbag, which was left in a car.
Mr Carman had been annoyed at the noise being made by a group at the Cow Shed Bay Camp ground in Marlborough Sounds on November 28.
Mackel was remanded on bail to reappear in the Blenheim District Court on January 17, the Marlborough Express reported.
