Remand after body found

A man charged with assault after a woman's body was found in Massey, west Auckland, has been remanded in custody for two weeks for a psychiatric assessment.

His appearance yesterday in the Waitakere District Court came after the woman was found dead in a house on Wednesday night.

A homicide inquiry is under way.
