A Domino's manager has apologised for "really awful service" after a family accidentally chowed down on pizzas with meat on them, despite being religiously vegetarian.
Jaideep Saini said his family's religious values meant they would not eat meat, but part way through eating what they thought were vegetarian pizzas, he discovered ham in them.
"Being religiously vegetarian, my family innocently ate ham in their pizza until I noticed the pizzas were not vegetarian and I stopped them from eating," Saini told the Herald.
"Very disappointed as our religious values have been hurt by Dominos New Zealand."
He took the pizzas back to Domino's Papakura for a refund and was told it would take three to five business days for the refund to process.
