A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after cash, electronics and clothing were stolen from Relay for Life tents while the charity event was in progress in Masterton overnight Saturday.
The boy was referred to Youth Aid yesterday after police searched his Masterton home.
They found "numerous items" stolen from Relay for Life which was held at Queen Elizabeth Park beginning in the late afternoon on Saturday and extending through to Sunday morning.
The relay involved continuous walking around a set circuit by teams and was a fundraiser for the Cancer Society.
The Wairarapa event raised $120,000 for cancer research.
