Police today appealed to the family member who took a six-year-old boy away from Hamilton Public Library on Friday to hand him over.
They believe that the boy, identified only as Jayden, was taken by the relative because of a custody battle between his parents.
A police spokesman said today that while there were no immediate fears for the boy's safety, they still wished to locate him.
He appealed to the relative to contact them or take Jayden to the nearest police station.
