KEY POINTS:
A 40-year-old relative of exorcism victim Janet Moses appeared in Lower Hutt District Court today charged with arson after an attack on the Wainuiomata house where the ritual took place last month.
George Moses allegedly set fire to the property on Friday evening.
The fire, in the kitchen and bedroom areas of the unoccupied house on Wellington Rd, caused only minor to moderate damage.
Neighbours told police they heard a window being smashed and saw a man running away.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Levy told NZPA that the homicide investigation into Ms Moses' death was "ticking along" and he was confident of a satisfactory conclusion.
Ms Moses, 22, died on October 12, allegedly after she was held down while water was poured down her throat.
