KEY POINTS:
There's nothing like a lover, even an old one, scorned.
Sonia Duncan, 41, had split with her partner of nine years but 12 months later decided she'd made a mistake.
She texted her ex-lover to "wait for me, I'll come back to you, I can come home on the next flight".
Instead she drove from Christchurch to the Palmerston North home they once shared - and found her man in bed with his new love.
That led to a real bustup.
The new lady-love lost fistfuls of hair and was attacked with a screwdriver.
The former lover's twin brother, also on the scene, was hit on the head with a 6kg ornament.
The Manawatu Standard reported today the story unfolded in Palmerston North District Court yesterday when Duncan admitted three charges including two of them assault.
The victims were not named in the charges.
Duncan was remanded in custody until November 16 for sentence by Judge Les Atkins.
