A shortage of referees for Wairarapa-Bush rugby this coming weekend mean no appointments have been made for secondary school colt and junior matches as well as a couple of senior reserve games.
The draw for Saturday is:-
Premier division: Puketoi v Gladstone, Pongaroa at 2.30pm (A. Stringer); Eketahuna v Masterton Red Star, Eketahuna at 2.30pm (G. Moorcock); Marist v Martinborough, Memorial Park No 1 at 2.30pm (H. The charity match between the Parliamentarian XV and the East Coast Wrinklies at Whareama on Sunday will kick off at 2.30pm with Dean Goodin in charge.
The curtain-raiser will feature the Barbarians and Kuranui College secondary schoolgirls sides. It will start at noon with Goff Moorcock as referee.
Meanwhile, Canterbury referee Josh Noonan will control the Ranfurly Shield challenge rugby match between holders Wellington and Wairarapa-Bush at Memorial Park on Thursday, July 2.
He will have Bay of Plenty duo Shane McDermott and Nick Briant as his assistants while controlling the substitutions will be local referees, Chris Jefferies and Dean Goodin.
The Shield match will be preceded by three curtain-raiser games and officials appointed to them are: Wairarapa Police v Wellington Police, Memorial Park No 1 at 11.45am (T. Roseingrave; A. Stringer and S. O'Gorman); Chanel College first XV v Tararua College first XV, Memorial Park No 2 at 1pm (C. Jefferies; A. Payne and E.
