The mother of slain model Reeva Steenkamp, shot dead by South African bladerunner Oscar Pistorius on Valentine's Day 2013, is due to share her daughter's story while visiting New Zealand.
June Steenkamp, who lost her 29-year-old daughter two years ago, has been confirmed as the main guest speaker at a formal dinner in Auckland next month for the 25th anniversary of domestic abuse prevention service charity Shine.
Pistorius, a 28-year-old double amputee, was found guilty of culpable homicide - similar to manslaughter - over Reeva Steenkamp's death in October.
The athlete, who competed for South Africa at the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, is serving a five-year prison sentence.
