New Zealanders are being asked to dip into their pockets to help earthquake victims in Indonesia.
The International Red Cross has launched a worldwide appeal for the equivalent of $15 million.
New Zealand spokesman Andrew McKie hopes people in this country will do their bit.
He says it is for resettling people left homeless and for their longer term needs.
Mr McKie says because of the ongoing tsunami relief efforts there are plenty of supplies for people affected by the latest earthquake.
The toll in the 6.2 magnitude quake that struck central Java is put at more than 3,000.
