Record price for artwork

Northland artist Shane Cotton's provocative painting Blackout Movement has sold in Auckland for a record auction price of $228,125.

The 4.8m by 1.6m painting, featuring an archetypal gang patch juxtaposed against religious scripture, was sold to a private collector.
