A record number of women have enrolled in first year engineering courses at Auckland University.
A quarter of the 2013 first year intake is women, and those 178 enrolments are the highest number for any university in Australasia.
The Faculty of Engineering says it has a proactive recruitment initiative and a pastoral care programme for women students.
It even has a full-time staff member dedicated to recruiting women into engineering courses.
