The Christchurch gondola has proved extremely popular since reopening this week, for the first time since the February earthquake.
It suffered minor damage in the quake, but has been closed while work on renovations and rockfall mitigation were completed at a cost of $2 million.
Managing Director Michael Esposito says it's been a very busy week.
"First three days, about 300-400 people a day. Yesterday, Good Friday it was very very busy, queues back into the carpark. We think probably 1000 people went up, so full capacity.
"I think the next couple of days will be a little bit quieter but a fantastic response and I think yesterday was probably a record day since we've owned it in the past seven years."
