A popular brand of vacuum cleaner could injure the users.
Consumer New Zealand has issued a warning about the Dyson DC05 Motorhead vacuum cleaner.
It says the clip on the vacuum wand handle could crack, to expose electrical connections. If the connections are touched while the machine is plugged in, there is a risk of electrical shock or burns.
Consumer New Zealand says if the hose detaches, people should not touch exposed electrical connectors or use the vacuum cleaner.
Dyson is issuing a reinforcing cuff to all DC05 owners to prevent hose detachment and owners can visit www.dyson.com.au for a free cuff.
