Seventy-one work visas have been issued to foreigners with in-demand skills who have applied to come to New Zealand to work on the rebuilding of Christchurch.
Between June 1 and October 31, 40 visas were granted to workers from Britain, 11 to Ireland and four to the Philippines.
They qualified because they had skills - including in surveying and engineering - which are in short supply in New Zealand.
