KEY POINTS:
The victim of convicted rapist Peter McNamara will have to wait at least 10 days to find out whether he is granted home detention.
The Parole Board yesterday said a decision on McNamara's application for home detention had been reserved.
A board panel met the victim and McNamara separately on Tuesday, and told both parties that a decision was unlikely to be released for at least 10 days.
McNamara was granted home detention on August 1 but had approval revoked because the board failed to advise his victim in time for the hearing.
The millionaire Mt Maunganui businessman, with former police officers Brad Shipton and Bob Schollum, was convicted of the 1989 pack rape of the-then 20-year-old woman.
McNamara has served two years of his seven year jail sentence.
The Parole Board apologised to the victim after failing to inform her in time to make submissions for his initial hearing on home detention.
The board said the final decision would be released publicly once she and McNamara had been informed.
McNamara fathered a child from prison then paid for prison escorts to allow him to attend the birth in January.
