The public gallery in a West Auckland court had to be cleared today as a father and son pleaded not guilty to charges related to a fatal shooting in Ranui.
23-year-old Josh Roach was killed in the incident in Luanda Drive in Ranui last week.
Another man, 20-year-old Ricky Lum, was hospitalised after being shot in the neck.
Allen Lum and his 18-year-old son Trae appeared in the Waitakere District Court today, charged with possession of an unlawful weapon.
As Allen Lum stood in the dock a woman began shouting at the 41-year-old - igniting the simmering tension in the packed court and sparking a yelling match with others in the public gallery.
