Regarding Tuesday's rant asking, "What's the right etiquette for exiting trains at Britomart station?": I have encountered impatient passengers pushing in against passengers trying to get out. I just walk straight into those arrogant people! You have the upper hand!

A massive thank-you to Haami Reti from Kaikohe Scrap Dealers who stopped to help our 84-year-old dad when he lost the wheel off his fully loaded trailer and was left stranded on the side of the main road near Puketona. It is awesome to know there are still compassionate people like you in your community.
Who is the leather chair dweller whose bright idea it was to move most of the North Shore buses to depart from Wellesley St so that downtown workers have an extra 10-20 minute walk to add to their commute?
I don't like ingesting engine fumes while standing on traffic lights waiting to cross the road so I cross at the end of the berm on Mt Wellington Highway. This morning, I was standing there waiting for the traffic to clear when the driver of the first truck suddenly stopped his truck, came back and waving the oncoming traffic to stop, ushered me across the road. What a lovely and caring thing to do, and I thank you very much.

It is common to see mothers, stopped in narrow streets outside primary schools, extracting their children from their cars via the road-side rear door. Narrow road, further blocked by door wide open with mother's backside sticking out into the traffic, oblivious to the danger to herself and the inconvenience to traffic. How hard would it be for such mothers to use the kerbside door?

Congratulations, Matamata. En route to Tauranga, my granddaughter and I visited the public toilets. Fresh flowers at the entrance, small posies of fresh flowers at the hand basins and a spotlessly clean facility. Really appreciated! As I returned from Tauranga the following day, a service light appeared on my dash. The attendant at the Z service station could not have been more helpful. He spent considerable time trying to resolve the problem. It was a good experience and I left with a very good coffee that came with the oil. Thanks, Matamata!
