Rant
On Wednesday last at 12.45am, workmen started up two powerful petrol-driven water blasters and cleaned off the roof of the Newmarket railway station. Does Auckland Transport not understand that at least 1000 people live next to the railway and need their sleep? Surely the job could have been done during normal day hours or when trains are suspended for emergency work, which seems to occur regularly. The work went on for at least three hours and was very loud.

Having undergone four operations in the past 12 months, I can't praise the New Zealand health service enough. From surgeons and anaesthetists, to nurses, porters and everyone in between, including St John, I have been treated with professionalism, courtesy, kindness and friendliness at both Auckland Central and Greenlane. Well done New Zealand and a big, big thank you to all who have cared for me.
