Thanks to a Fullers ferry captain I was allowed to remain on board when I realised on our way back to Auckland that I had left my camera on the ground on a scoria field after a trip out to Rangitoto Island. I was able to run up and retrieve my camera and as a bonus a helpful DoC worker then drove me back to the ferry ensuring I did not hold up the return ferry to Auckland.

On three different occasions now I have come across the on-ramp lights not working at Constellation Drive heading north and all three times there has been no traffic build-up. What does this tell you? It tells me the lights on on-ramps are just a waste of time.

Cameron, Mitre 10, Lunn Ave, could not have been more helpful in my purchase of a large sun umbrella.

With good grace and a smile he got one out of storage, carried it to the checkout and made sure it was labelled and put in a secure place for my husband to pick up later in the day. Hubby then went to pick up and made comment about Cameron's good attitude.

Purchase completed with Cameron carrying the umbrella to vehicle.

Why are motorists kept waiting at the traffic lights at on-ramps for up to 14 seconds when the traffic flow on the visible motorway is so low you'd think it was closed. I thought they were proactively monitored by the motorway control centre, but obviously not.

We went to the new Mitre 10 store in Hobsonville to purchase compost and a blender. The man who assisted us in the gardening area was informative, very helpful. What excellent service. Couldn't find the blender we wanted. Once again a staff member came to our aid. She was friendly, asked if we needed anything else and would we like help to take our purchases to the car. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the Staff at Mitre 10 Hobsonville.

All cars come equipped with indicators, rear view mirrors and accelerators. Use them when you are meant to! No wonder we are in the top three countries in the world per capita for worst drivers.
